3. I have a 2020 Macbook Pro M1, It does get hot when you play Sims 4 but that might just be because I have it on ultra settings. I‘ve had it for a week and I haven’t heard the fans turn on once. Origin works great through Rosetta just make sure vertical sync is turned on in Sims 4 settings because it will crash if it’s turned off.

So far, I’ve had no problems running it on a 5,1 quad core Mac Pro with Radeon 7870, so I’m not sure if some folks just don’t have the power to run this as the developer says (a little odd for a game that I recall playing on single core systems running Windows XP).

What is Rosetta 2? Rosetta 2 is a translation process that enables an M1 Mac with Apple silicon to use apps built for Intel-based Macs.

As you can see below, the game is still exclusively written for Intel-based Macs, but thanks to Rosetta 2, The Sims 4 can nonetheless run great on M1 Macs:
